Shanghai Suzy Lipsticks

This post is dedicated to a much loved item in my collection: Lipstick

I made a recent purchase from a new brand in Australia called Shanghai Suzy which launched in August 2013.
I first became aware of these gorgeous lipsticks through my Bella Box subscription (il do a separate blog post for that).

Now onto the lipstick:

Shanghai Suzy is the brand created by model Joanna Wheaton & her team whom wanted to create something more affordable for Australian buyers. All the lipsticks that are released are on par with major makeup brands and are all limited edition to cope with the changes of each season.

The one thing that stood out for me is that the lippies are vegan & not tested on animals which is quite a relief from the cosmetic market today.

Very chic, clean lines & no major big coloured pictures to distract your eyes from the product on the inside & a nice black casing with the brand name across it. The name of the lipstick is placed at the bottom & a coloured sticker is placed on the top so you can see the colour of  the lipstick in the tube.

My package arrived the next day after I pressed the pay button, anything that arrives that quickly always gets me excited. Inner city Melbourne will have the same shipping time frame. From the website it states up to 6 days for delivery for the rest of Australia.

The smell test:
I do test this when it comes to products, there is honestly nothing worse than purchasing a lipstick & it smells horrible. I am glad to say that Joanna & her team thought of this & listed on the website “with a fragrance inspired by Grape Hubba Bubba”. I tested this out on my lovely colleague at work & she pronounced ‘ It’s good enough to eat’ (& trust me that girl knows her bubble gum).

I got so excited when I started swatching all four lipsticks as the pigmentation of each were incredible, the colours are bright, new & some what classic. Their range is from 'nourish' to gorgeous 'matte' .
I have chosen to take swatches outside in the sun so you can see how glorious these colours are & photos taken in doors with much less light (you can see clearly how white my skin actually looks right now).

 Nourish Lipstick:
- Miss Hannah Blood Red

What I love about this is that it contains jojoba seed oil which most natural companies use in their lip products. This moisterizes the lips & prevents them from drying quickly. The formula for this selection is really amazing & isn't sheer like most nourish lipsticks on the current market. This was bright, pigmented & glided on smoothly. Im happy to say I applied it at 1pm today & it's still right there on the lips looking untouched except for a tiny amount of fading. My lips don't feel dry & sore which has occured before with other branded lipsticks.

Matte Lipstick:
- Miss Kitty Black Plum
- Miss Amy Baby Pink
- Miss Sanja Fuchsia

Matte has always been a favorite of mine when selecting lipsticks. The colour always come out brighter & more pronounced. These thankfully were so smooth & I was able to choose to either apply from the bullet or apply using my sigma lip brush. Il be selecting one of the shades to wear tomorrow & see how long it stays put.
These were incredibly creamy for a matte lipstick & with my first trial it didn't dry up my lips within an hour.
I do however as always recommend a good lip scrub & a little coat of lip moisturizer to prep them ready for any lipstick.

There are eight shades released every season & are all limited edition, safe to say I have fallen head over heels for these lipsticks.
It's not just the formula, texture & colour of each lipstick that I'm loving it's also the fact that these are all Australian owned, they are our own & are not tested on animals.
Each lipstick currently retails for $12.95 AU or you can purchased all eight for this season at $65.00 AU.

I decided on purchasing the shop Suzy Pack which is 'purchase three & get the fourth one free' $38.85 AU.
Orders over $65 come with complimentary free shipping & orders under $65 pay $6.95 shipping within Australia.

Honestly, if you are looking for a great lipstick with full coverage & lasting wear that not only doesn't dry your lips & is available in eight glorious shades then I suggest these.
There is no better feeling then value for money & knowing you are supporting australias cosmetic industry.
