Baking with Tarlie: 5 Ingredient Healthy Bars

So this isn't something I originally thought about writing when it came to my beauty blog but after some great feedback from my Instagram I thought a quick recipe would be something you guys would love to see.
Please note that this recipe is not my own, I had a friend pass this on from work & have been given the ok to write up a post.

So let's start this off........

Delicious 5 Ingredient Healthy Bars

What you'll need:

1 cup of pitted dates, cut up roughly
1/4 cup of organic honey (I like Manuka honey)
1/4 cup natural/no added sugars or salt peanut butter
1 cup of natural almonds (cut up roughly)
1 1/2 cups of organic rolled oats

How-To:

  1.  Using a blender or food processor, blend the dates until small pieces remain & form a slight dough.
  2.  Mix together the dates, almonds & oats in a bowl.
  3.  Warm your honey & peanut butter in a saucepan on low heat. Do not let it get to the point of the mixture simmering.
  4.  Pour honey & peanut butter in with the rest of the ingredients, make sure to break up the dates so that they are equally dispersed through the mixture.
  5.  Once mixed, transfer ingredients to a flat baking tray that you have already covered with glad wrap. Press the mixture down firmly & place glad wrap over the top.
  6.  Leave in the fridge for 20 minutes or even better over night.
  7. Once out of the fridge cut up into desired squares or rectangles & your done.

These are both filling & healthy & a great alternative to processed granola bars that you buy from the supermarket that are filled with sugar & salt.

Hope you enjoyed this little post & if you think this should become a regular occurrence on my blog please let me know below.

Happy Cooking!!!
