Mac Alluring Aquatic

This is one of those collections that I had anticipated would be sold out within minutes once it hit the online MAC Australia website

I had seen dozens upon dozens of photo's via Instagram about this collection, most of which came from the US as they get the releases before us.
Everything about this entire collection embodies the season of summer in the US with a cool blue metal coloured casing with 3D raindrops.
Due to some delay with the collection being placed online in Australia last Monday I thought I wouldn't get the chance to buy any of the products, but then it went up & I knew chaos would break out & everybody would be hurriedly tapping their phones, iPad or keyboards to order what they wanted.
Thankfully I got all the items that were on my list & now I get to share my purchases with you all.

Alluring Aquatic

I purchased Aphrodite's Shell extra dimension bronzer ($55), See Me Hear Me extra dimension blush ($45), Goddess of the Sea Lipstick ($38), Enchanted One Lipstick ($38) & Seduced at Sea extra dimension blush ($45).

(Top - See Me Hear Me,  Bottom - Seduced at Sea )

Both blushes are stunning, ok colour pay off but I am a little disappointed that they didn't create a bright coral colour to really bring out the beauty of the collection given it's dedicated to the sea & summer.

(Extra dimension bronzer in Aphrodite's shell)

This extra dimension bronzer looks stunning in its packing, the colour payoff again isn't great for my skin but buildable. I was going to change my choice and purchase one of the compact bronzers (mostly due to the packaging) but I decided not to fuss about it & keep this one instead.

(Left -   Right -   )

The lipsticks were the first item I went for, i knew 100% that I wanted the 'Goddess of the Sea' lipstick & I heard a million and one people talk about how beautiful it was.
They were right, its stunning & the packaging on these lipsticks are amazing. My second colour choice in' Enchanted One' is a gorgeous light nude shade. I usually buy at least one nude colour from each collection that releases if I make it into ordering online in time.

I absolutely love the packaging of this collection & for me it was worth every penny, these are timeless & will fit nicely with my makeup collectables.
In regards to the makeup itself, I'm not sold on it.
I assumed MAC would create more coraly brights to go with this collection to remind us of Summer by the Sea. The colour payoff on each powder product isn't amazing & I really have to double up to create any type of colour payoff.
In saying that though, I am still happy I purchased the items & would love to see what you guys thought on the packaging & the products themselves.

Leave me a comment below with your thoughts on this release.

  2. Oh my, they are all gorgeous! But I get what you say about the packaging vs. the actual product shades too - really it is the packaging that is drawing me in!

    1. That's what drew me in, it was too beautiful to pass up but the products themselves are not what I'd call 'sea/ocean'.
I do wish they had placed some corally colours in.
